Cairo: Prices for plane tickets from Kuwait to several destinations have fallen since the country’s international airport regained full capacity nearly a month ago, experts said.

Ticket prices have fallen by 50-200% for travel to some overseas destinations, they told Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

The return to full operation of the airport, as part of the easing of restrictions linked to COVID-19, has prompted the national airline, Kuwait Airways, to increase its flights abroad.

According to travel expert Kamal Kabsha, the prices of plane tickets, mainly those of flights from Kuwait, have at times fallen by more than 200% compared to the time that elapsed before the airport regained full capacity.

Ticket prices to some destinations like Turkey, Egypt, Paris and Munich have fallen by more than 50%, said Nassib Adnan, head of a travel agency.

However, the prices of plane tickets to other destinations such as Dubai, London, India, the Philippines and Jeddah are still high compared to pre-coronavirus prices due to growing demand for them. and the low availability of direct flights to these destinations, ”he added.

Last month, the Kuwaiti government eased virus-related restrictions for fully vaccinated people and announced the return of the country’s airport to operate at full capacity.

After a seven-month ban, since August 1, Kuwait has allowed the entry of expatriates on condition that they have received two doses of a vaccine recognized by Kuwait.
