Mercedes S-Class is premium luxury – Saratogian Sat, 16 Oct 2021 15:20:44 +0000

By Marc Grasso

The best luxury you can buy is always top of the line.

Let’s be honest, right… I have driven over 300 cars with different models and packages. From low from bottom to top from top. Each manufacturer has its niche, its consumer base and its options to make its vehicle unique to its customers. Well, when a chart leader comes into Grasso’s Garage, it’s all the hype because we get to enjoy the best of the best for a whole week. Hey Mercedes, congratulations, this time it’s you and this beautiful S580 4Matic.

Providing credit where credit is due, Mercedes always finds a way to stay ahead of the competition and exceed consumer expectations. Not only are they visible from afar, but Mercedes always seems to be one step ahead of the competition. That being said, we recognize the S-Class like this, with its endless style, options and beautiful accessories. On our week-long drive with an Anthracite Blue S580 we were impressed and consider it to be the best price one can buy. Yes, I know, I recently drove some amazing vehicles from a Rolls Royce Ghost and Bentley Flying Spur with price tags over $ 300,000, but for the base price of $ 116,000, this surpasses them all.

I mention a lot for your money because I think it’s important that readers get a lot for what they pay. In this case, it’s just that, a huge hit for a huge dollar. At 496 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque, this nearly 5,000-pound vehicle goes from zero to 60 mph in 4 seconds flat. Its 4.0-liter Bi-Turbo engine with EQ + boost is smooth, powerful and feels like driving on the road on your couch. It’s so comfy, in fact it’s so comfy, Mercedes provides pillow-like additions to the top of the headrest for that extra neck comfort that everyone appreciates.

The augmented reality head-up display and heated and cooled seats, in a phenomenally beautiful silver-gray nappa leather interior, were only standard for the S580, while the 21-inch spoke outer wheels in V from the AMG line really sealed the deal for me. in the exterior appearance category.

In the large luxury sedan market, there is nothing better for the price than the Mercedes S-Class. If I was looking for such a phenomenal vehicle, this one would undoubtedly be a part of Grasso’s personal collection and would be on par, if not better, with those previously priced.

Calling all executives, you heard it here first!

VIDEO: Hamburg attends the first public flight of the VoloDrone by Volocopter Thu, 14 Oct 2021 00:36:55 +0000

VolocopterThe VoloDrone electric heavy transport drone made its first public flight on Tuesday, October 12 during the ITS World Congress in Hamburg 2021.

The three-minute test flight took off at 3:02 p.m. from homePORT Hamburg and reached a maximum altitude of 22 meters. For this delivery simulation, the heavy-lift electric utility drone was equipped with a loading box between its landing gear.

The flight was carried out in association with international logistics leader DB Schenker, demonstrating their significant progress together since DB Schenker became a strategic investor in Volocopter early 2020.

First, the demonstration teams secured a load the size of a European pallet in the box under the VoloDrone, followed by a smooth takeoff. After that, the plane brought the payload to a DB Schenker cargo bike and landed safely. After the payload was successfully transferred, the Cargo Bike delivered its cargo to the final destination under the Zone Park Bridge, marking the completion of the last mile fully electric and multimodal delivery.

“This first public VoloDrone flight is a strong sign for Volocopterleading position in the UAM industry. We are the only UAM company to provide solutions for passengers and cargo that fly on a large scale and publicly all over the world ”, said Florian Reuter, Volocopter CEO. “Our VoloDrone will make existing logistics processes more robust, efficient and sustainable. DB Schenker is an invaluable partner in our efforts to harness the enormous potential of our VoloDrone’s logistical use cases.

Erik Wirsing, Vice President of Global Innovation at DB Schenker, comments: “With the VoloDrone flight today, we were able to publicly demonstrate our successful collaboration and the impressive progress of DB Schenker’s roadmap for innovation and sustainability for cleaner logistics. Volocopter has proven once again that they are the ideal partner for DB Schenker’s ambition to rethink global supply chains and take transport logistics to the next dimension for our customers while reducing emissions.

The demonstration in Hamburg builds on the foundations of the Static Proof of Concept (PoC) that the partners conducted in July this year in Stuttgart. He presented a master plan for the implementation of VoloDrone operations in logistics facilities around the world. With the first public flight of the VoloDrone, in Hamburg, Volocopter and DB Schenker demonstrated how drone operations can extend existing logistics infrastructure for land or sea transport to create entirely new supply chains and transport routes.

The VoloDrone is a fully electric unmanned utility drone designed to carry one of the six sizes of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) pallets, weighing up to 200 kilograms, over a distance of 40 kilometers. This electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft is intended for tough missions in various industries. As a member of Volocopterthe robust UAM aircraft portfolio for passenger transport (VoloCityand VoloConnect) and goods in the city, the VoloDrone is positioned to be deployed where conventional modes of transport reach their limits.
UAM uses innovative aircraft to provide mobility solutions to metropolitan areas. In addition to developing the aircraft, Volocopter organizes the physical (VoloPorts) and digital (VoloIQ) to support these services, which are expected to launch within the next 2-3 years. VoloIQ serves as the digital backbone for operations. This platform will support ecosystem aspects such as Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO), Flight Analysis, Vehicle Connectivity, stand-alone operations, etc.

The first flight of the VoloDrone took place in 2019. Since then, regular flight tests have been carried out at various aerodromes in Germany. The drone itself is 9.15 meters in diameter, 2.15 meters high, and has a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 600 kilograms. Future VoloDrone operations will be fully electric with autonomous beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) capabilities.

How to destroy antiaircraft guns – Far Cry 6 wiki guide Tue, 12 Oct 2021 21:00:00 +0000

Latest edition:

This page includes a guide to how to destroy antiaircraft guns and military targets in Far Cry 6, allowing safe flying around Yara.

How to destroy antiaircraft guns

Far Cry 6 first asks players to destroy anti-aircraft guns and military targets as part of the main story of Libertad Rises, which is Operation 7.

Beyond this mission, players will head to the Yara Continent, where AA guns cover much of the land in “no-fly zones”. Destroying these anti-aircraft weapons will be extremely important to ensure that you can use anything to bring down the regime.

When you look around the Yara map (check out our fully interactive Yara map here) you will see prominent red circles and anti-aircraft site markers, so click on them to set markers to guide you to your target.

When flying around the map (perhaps with the fantastic Angelito FW Turbo) another sign that there is an anti-aircraft gun nearby is that you will be contacted by radio by air traffic control or military forces. You’ll also see AA gun circles on the map all the time until you land.

A red banner will also appear on the screen to let you know that enemies are preparing to shoot you down, your minimap will be circled in red, and the name of the anti-aircraft gun base will be displayed in the lower left corner.

When this happens, lower your flight height until you are very close to the ground (or return to drive mode if you are in the Angelito), which will lower you below the radar, allowing you to continue flying. . Use this technique to approach the base, then exit your vehicle.

Anti-aircraft gun installations are usually very lightly guarded, if there are soldiers stationed nearby.

Approach and hit the big cannon with some explosive weapon. Dynamite works wonders, so throw one at the base of the giant turret and the anti-aircraft gun will be destroyed, allowing you to roam the sky safe from enemy fire!

AA guns are often (but not always) guarded by a turret, which you can use to destroy the AA gun if you forgot to take explosives with you.

40 Years of Life Flight Program Served 75,000 People And It Is Not Over | News, Sports, Jobs Mon, 11 Oct 2021 15:11:15 +0000 Life Flight pilot Jim Isaacs watches the helicopter before taking off from the rooftop of Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on Tuesday. Today’s article

DANVILLE – Geisinger’s Life Flight program has taken a few steps this year, celebrating its 40th anniversary and serving more than 75,000 critically ill and injured patients.

Life Flight Program Director Jerry Splitt has been a flight medic since 1993 and the numbers “I have touched thousands of people. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a patient leave the hospital or hearing that he is improving.

Splitt is one of some 150 members of Geisinger’s Life Flight program which began on July 1, 1981, with a dozen employees and a leased Alouette single-engine helicopter.

At that time, there were only a few air ambulance programs in the country, and Geisinger was only the second in Pennsylvania, said Dr. Michael Leicht, the program’s first medical director.

“We did 430 (transport) the first year,” he said of the program’s mission to get trauma and critically ill patients quickly to hospitals where they can receive life-saving treatment.

Life Flight Director of Aviation Maintenance Jeff Gazey talks about the tools they use to maintain helicopters. Today’s article

Today, Life Flight is the second largest intensive care transport operation in Pennsylvania after STAT MedEvac in Allegheny County. Life Flight performs an average of 3,600 transports each year with nine twin-engine aircraft at six locations. About 70 percent of transports involve moving patients to another hospital and 30 percent are emergency calls.

Since 2012, Geisinger has owned all airplanes and employed the pilots, essentially running his own airline under the supervision of the Federal Aviation Administration, said Andrea Wary, associate vice president for medicine.

“We are extremely proud of Geisinger Life Flight’s safety record over the past 40 years”, Geisinger spokesperson Marc Stempka said.

There have only been two incidents involving the aircraft since the start of the program. One in 1996 which resulted in minor injuries to the crew, and the other in 2013 without anyone being injured.

“Our team continues to work diligently to run a safe program that has served tens of thousands of patients and their families in our community,” said Stempka.

Over the past year, there has been a significant increase in thefts, which Splitt attributes in part to the pandemic and delays in the number of people seeking medical attention and becoming sicker.

“Normally, we do around 300 transports per month. This year we have seen around 400 transports per month. It is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated ”, he said, patient transports mainly involving the unvaccinated

Each Life Flight helicopter takes off with a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic, but equally important to the success of the program are the many people behind the scenes, communications specialists, emergency vehicle operators, maintenance and administrative staff.

Richard Smith went from flying Blackhawk helicopters during the Desert Storm to transporting dignitaries out of the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Since 2012 he has been Director of Life Flight Operations, overseeing 30 pilots working at six bases in the Geisinger Health System.

“My job is really to follow all the rules issued by the FAA”, Smith said.

Keeping helicopters in good working order and safe for patients, medical personnel and pilots is the responsibility of Jeff Gazey, Director of Aircraft Maintenance, and Tim Ozimok, Chief Safety Officer.

Each aircraft is inspected daily and an intensive six to eight week inspection is performed every 800 flight hours or three years, Gazey said.

The key to keeping everyone safe is good communication between all department and air ambulance employees and adherence to strict protocols, Ozimok said.

“There are so many disciplines that we talk about 24 hours a day”, he said.

With the number of flights climbing, Gazey said, the nine mechanics are “busier than ever.”

He’s looking to hire two more mechanics and Smith has said he’s looking for an additional driver.

Thinking about the program’s 40th anniversary, Wary describes Life Flight as a natural progression from the vision of Geisinger founder Abigail Geisinger in the early 1900s to ensure that all rural residents in the valley have access to care. of high quality health.

“Fast forward to 1981 and that same vision of ensuring that the people of Pennsylvania have access to medical treatment continued,” she said.

Geisinger continues to invest in the Life Flight program, adding a new EC-145 helicopter to its fleet, building a new helipad at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital, and expanding the aerial medical program in partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network.

In 2015, intensive care ground trucks were added “For patients who need intensive care, but don’t need the speed” Splitt said. In 2019, every LifeFlight helicopter began carrying blood onboard every flight in case an emergency blood transfusion was required.

The hospital also offers an emergency medicine residency program which has enabled nearly 300 residents to work with the Life Flight crew as part of their studies.

Leicht, an emergency physician, himself made several flights during the early years of the Life Flight program and remembers an accident near Elysburg with several injuries and trapping.

“We felt that one person had to leave right away, so I stayed until the second was released and was able to treat her on the spot. “ he said.

“Incalculable,” This is how Leicht sums up the benefits of the program. “We have clearly had a huge impact on lives. “

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Umut Yıldız said that there had been some significant developments in Turkey’s science facilities recently.

Yıldız is a Turkish-born astrophysicist and telecommunications engineer who works on deep space telecommunications for distant space missions at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

During his visit to the Gokmen Space and Aviation Training Center in Bursa Province, northwestern Turkey, which was established to generate interest and knowledge in space and aviation, he noted that the center is one of the few centers in the field of space and aviation in the world. .

On NASA’s studies to explore the surface of Mars with the Perseverance rover mission, he said they had reached a level where they could operate a flying vehicle on Mars.

“The main goal of the Perseverance robot is to try and find life there. We don’t know if there is life or not, but we do know that liquid water exists. Maybe life was formed out of the water there billions of years ago, ”he speculated.

Emphasizing that the robot is continuing its research, he expressed the hope that they may soon receive good news and find life on Mars.

class = “cf”>

He said the robot, which landed on Mars last February, has been sending data since then.

“He sent several hundred thousand photos. There is no liquid water on Mars at the moment, but we can easily tell that we have encountered icy and frozen water under the crust, ”he said, adding that they had found underground ponds going further.

“We also know from sedimentary rocks that there was liquid water on Mars in the past. The water must flow in it for these stones to become round. We also know the paths of the rivers from satellite photos, ”he added.

Recalling that Mars has 4.5 billion years of history, he said there was water, but did not know how long that water lasted there.

How to change sensitivity in Battlefield 2042 Fri, 08 Oct 2021 22:27:58 +0000

In the great open battles of Battlefield 2042There are a lot of variables to watch out for, like snipers in the bushes, planes and helicopters hovering over them, and hundreds of hiding places enemies could hide in.

To survive, your aim must be precise, which means that your proper sensitivity setting is aligned, whether you are using a mouse and keyboard or a controller. Here’s how you can change your sensitivity settings in Battlefield 2042.

How to change the sensitivity in Battlefield 2042

After loading the game, go to Options via the button at the bottom of the screen. If you are a mouse and keyboard player, select Mouse and keyboard. If you are using the controller, go to Controller.

Once you’re in the options menu for your preferred entry, you can change the sensitivities to aim as a soldier or when you’re in a vehicle. Each section is relatively the same, with the soldier’s objective and the vehicle’s objective each having a slider for universal aiming sensitivity that can range from zero to 100. Here there are other aiming options, such as choosing to toggle or hold to zoom and stabilize.

Each section also offers many advanced options. One of them is the vertical aim ratio, which allows you to reduce your vertical aim compared to your horizontal aim. So when aiming up and down it’s not as sensitive as aiming left to right. You can also change the coefficient dimension, allowing you to increase and decrease the sensitivity at higher zoom dimensions. If you want to be really precise, you can even change the zoom aiming sensitivity up to 16 different zoom magnifications, ranging from 1.00x zoom to 10.00x zoom.

The vehicle aim sections allow you to change the sensitivity of vehicle aim, gunner aim and aircraft control. Vehicle aim has access to the same advanced settings as soldier aim.

You don’t need to adjust your aiming sensitivity before the game starts. During a match, you can still bring up the menu, go to Options, and adjust your sensitivity settings during a battle. Make sure you take cover first.
